Dr. Edward J. Kormylo has been serving Suffolk County in the practice of podiatric medicine and surgery since 1982.
Dr. Kormylo is the Co-Medical Director at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Center for Wound Care and Hyberbaric Medicine. During his tenure, which began in 1996, the center has earned the Robert Warner, MD degree for three consecutive years with a 96% healing rate of lower extremity wounds. Dr. Kormylo has also given numerous lectures regarding diabetic limb salvage and the uses of advanced wound healing modalities.
Dr. Kormylo is currently the Section Chief of the Department of Podiatry and a member of the Board of Trustees at Brookhaven Hospital. He has been a member of the Medical Board of Brookhaven Memorial Hospital for twelve years, during which time he served as President of the Medical Board for four years.
Dr. Edward J. Kormylo received his Board Certification in Foot and Ankle surgery in 1980, after graduating from New York College of Podiatric Medicine with high honors. Dr. Kormylo stayed on to complete his surgical residency at the New York College. He received his undergraduate degree from Iona College where he majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry. He is currently affliated with Brookhaven Memorial Hospital and St. Charles Hospital.
