Dr. Joseph M. Zehentner

Joseph M. Zehentner, DPM, AACFAS, is a board certified, ABPM and board qualified, ABFAS podiatric surgeon born and raised on eastern Long Island. He went on to complete his undergraduate degree in biomedical science at Quinnipiac University with Magna Cum Laude honors and minors in chemistry and microbiology.

Dr. Zehentner then received his doctorate at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in Manhattan, where he was heavily involved in teaching students including a tutoring position as well as an anatomy teachers assistant. He also was a volunteer at multiple community foot screening events and apart of the medical team at the NYC marathon.

Once receiving his doctorate, Dr. Zehentner completed his three-year comprehensive podiatric surgical and medicine residency at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, NY. During his training, he served as a co-chief resident and received advanced training in reconstructive forefoot, rearfoot and ankle surgery. He then also completed the ACFAS Foot and Ankle arthroscopy surgical skills course as well as the Bako Podiatric Dermatopathology Fellowship and Podiatry Institute Forefoot surgical skills course.

Dr. Zehentner is a driven, passionate and well trained podiatric physician who cares about his patients. He takes the time to throughly explain the diagnosis, treatment and plan to all patients. His interests include foot and ankle sports medicine, trauma, diabetic wound care, and elective surgery.
